67. Actual site news! - by JimmyWolk

Yes, I did actually work on the site a bit for a change. As I already put in the introduction of the page, while I already used to add "Fan-fanart" in my gallery, but aside from not being sure how prominent that was there to begin with, I didn't really have anything for written or otherwise external stuff. And since there was a fairly big one, that kinda got me a bit off my butt in general*, I figured I could give all the "Fan-fanworks" a page of their own (replacing the "Progress" page that was over a decade out of date anyway).
It's not necessarily "done" yet (aside from hopefully being able to add more, of course *hint hint* ;) ), I'm not sure yet if I still change the design a bit or may also add a "homage" section for stories that only have a minor inspiration (like TvTropes lists some stories that include named or inspired by Aki, and while that's awesome as well, I'm not sure if I can really "take credit"(?) for that (even if the author confirmed it), if it's not actually supposed to be her or when the story otherwise very much their own and has nothing to do with my stuff - especially since I took the name from another story myself. ^^).
But feel free to give feedback for that/the page in general (and surely, the authors/artists won't mind some comments on their respective pages as well ;) ). And as mentioned as well in the introduction, also don't hesitate to let me know if you've seen something to add to it as well - and better yet of course, if you created something yourself. :)

*In that regard, in case you haven't followed it in my comments on some of the last few AcL pages, it also made me go through T2t myself and made me want to add a few more illustrations for that (still feel free to add some of your interests as well), and it also got me quite a few ideas for other pics as well. And kinda in preparation for that (though work did already take a bit of a toll on my productivity in that regard :/), I recently finally put up a deviantArt page, where I also put a few pics that I hadn't even uploaded to my gallery here, so feel free to check it out. ;)

65. (Still) Delayed - by JimmyWolk
[10.11.17, 19:04]

First of all, apologies to everyone waiting for the next chapter, let alone to anyone thinking this post may finally be the one to announce its start.
Around August, I had planned to get the script done by October, do the rough draft in November and have the first pages ready by the end of the year. Hate to say, that's not looking likely. Even the script is still far from done, so unless I'd take a looong break in between, I don't see myself getting a page out this year.
Admittedly, a lot of that is my own fault (well, duh, I'm the only one who could do something about it). Beyond the usual "little time", "being busy", "being lazy", I had a bit of a self-made conflict in regards to my plans for the chapter. With a trip to the Grandparents in Germany, I wanted to use the chance to give a little insight into the country beyond the usual stereotypes. However, most things I could think of (that would be interesting enough) were based around certain traditions/holidays and I didn't really want to center the chapter around one. I know some of you wouldn't mind, but given that it'd be running for most of the year, it'd feel weird to me to have, for example, a Christmas chapter in July. ^^;
So, I figured to not trying to force anything into the chapter itself, which means there might just be some passing references here and there (otherwise I just have one short scene so far, but even with that, I'm not entirely sure to leave it in, as it's a bit awkward to place in the timeline). To make up for that (and also kinda for the lack of chapter) I had the idea that I might do a bonus picture series around those traditions instead, releasing it whenever it's "appropriate" (and with the big one around the corner, there's quite a bit to cover rather soon).
Though I might as well put a general disclaimer here already: It will be mostly based on my own childhood memories, so even if I say "German traditions", it may actually just be a regional or even family one; quite a few might not be German-only but extend to other countries; some may even be outdated nowadays. But I hope you'll enjoy either way.

See you soon!

(And by soon, I mean tomorrow, unless anything goes wrong with the php script changes I'm currently working on, since my stupid past self didn't think of the possibility that I might want to have some extra pages outside the chapters)
